College Alumni Mentorship Program (C.A.M.P.)

C.A.M.P. at Santiago High School is a program recognized under the the Santiago High School Alumni Association, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The program matches current Santiago High School Juniors and Seniors with Alumni that have completed at least two years towards a bachelors degree to aid in the their application and transition to college life.

This year embarks with C.A.M.P. at Santiago High School's first cohort of a select number of mentors and a select number of mentees. C.A.M.P.S. Board of Directors are looking forward to reviewing applications from prospective students and prospective mentors (local and non-local).

If you are a prospective current SHS student considering college (2 or 4 year), you are encouraged to apply at the following link. Keep in mind these eligibility requirements, responsibilities, and benefits.

Mentee Eligibility:
- Must be interested in going to college.
- Must either be a junior or senior.

Responsibilities:
- Aid in the recruitment process of next year's cohort of CAMP Scholars.
- Fully and actively participate in planned events.

If you are a prospective SHS Alumni, you are encouraged to apply at the following link. Keep in mind these eligibility requirements and responsibilities.

Mentor Eligibility:
- Have completed at least 2 years of undergraduate coursework (48 semester units/72 quarter units).
- Have a cumulative 2.5 undergraduate GPA.
- A declared major.

Responsibilities:
- Check in with your mentee on a bi-weekly basis, whether in person or online.
- Attend a Retreat/Orientation that prepares you for advising and equips you with vital supplemental materials.
- Advise your mentee on topics involving: ACT/SAT, personal statements, extracurricular activities, scholarships, picking a school, understanding financial aid, attaining high school honors, and surviving the real world.

Applications will close on August 1, 2014.

This year's interview dates for Mentors will be on: August 9th and 10th.

Whether you're still in undergrad, a recent graduate, a graduate student, studying abroad for the academic year, or even just in the professional world, CAMP at SHS takes your expertise in higher education and lets you contribute to the production of the next generation of SHS Scholars.
