Course Description:
This class is a college preparatory class that meets the A-G requirements for all Cal-State and UC schools. This course also meets 1 year of a 2 year science graduation requirement. In this class students will study essential biology themes including: Cells, Genetics, Human Physiology, Evolution and Ecology. This course will provide students with the foundation for and background knowledge to continue the study of biology or other science courses offered at Santiago High School.

Materials Needed:
All students are expected to have the following supplies and materials daily:
*2 Spiral Notebooks
3 Ring Binder
*Glue Stick
*Colored Pencils
*Highlighter
*Pencil Sharpener
Pencil/Pen
*Most materials will be kept in the classroom for your personal use daily.

Grading Policy:
Your grade will be determined by the total number of points you receive for each semester in the class. Points may be earned for each of the following”

Labs Class Participation Projects
Grading Scale:
90% - 100% = A
80% - 89% = B
70% - 79% = C
60% - 69% = C-
50% - 59% = D
49% and below = F

Extra Help:
~7:30 – 8:00, Break, Lunch and after school = Mrs. Miller’s availability
~After school tutoring provides assistance for Biology students = Science
~Homework Center = Boys and Girls Club
