Welcome to the last full week of instruction. Odysseus has made it home, but there are a few more challenges he must overcome, and a few more lessons he and his journey can teach us before you go home for the summer.

Monday - 4th Q Benchmark Testing.

Tuesday - Start The Odyssey, Part 2: Coming Home. "The Meeting of Father and Son" (p 690-694), and "The Beggar and the Faithful Dog" (p 694-696).

Wednesday - Read/Analyze "The Test of the Great Bow" (p 698-702), and "Death at the Palace" (p 703-705).

Thursday - Read/Analyze "Odysseus and Penelope" (p. 706-709). Questions 1-10 on p 713.

Friday - Write a five paragraph, timed essay explaining Odysseus' obstacles, what they symbolize, and how they relate to universal obstacles.

I don't have to report for jury duty on Monday, but I still have to call in the rest of the week. These plans will remain the same whether I am teaching or a there is a sub.

4th quarter benchmarks are next Monday, but we'll be continuing to find our way home with Odysseus.

Monday - Finish flow maps for "The Cyclops." Read/Analyze "The Enchantress Circe" (p 673-674) and "The Land of the Dead" (p 675-677)

Tuesday - Read/Analyze "The Sirens: Scylla and Charybdis" (p 678-683)

Wednesday - Read/Analyze "The Cattle of the Sun God" (p 684-686)

Thursday - Test "The Odyssey" Part 1.

Friday - Benchmark review.

Thursday - Read/Analyze "The Cyclops"

Friday - Vocab quiz, Read "The Enchantress Circe," and "The Land of the Dead." P 673-678.

Another week interrupted by CSTs. We will be finish The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet this week.

Monday - Summary of Romeo and Juliet Act IV. Vocab for Act V. Begin reading Act V.

Tuesday - CST schedule. Periods 3 and 5 will watch Romeo and Juliet movie.

Wednesday - Collaboration/Late Start schedule. Read/Analyze Act V.

Thursday - CST schedule. Periods 2 and 4 will watch Romeo and Juliet movie.

Friday - Finish reading ACT V (end of play). Finish movie.

M-Thurs - Reading/analyzing Act I of "The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet." Using Thinking Tools and Depth and Complexity Icons to find meaning in the play. (ten minutes per day of practice for Friday's recital).

Tuesday - Friday - there will be a comprehension or interpretation question that you and your clock appt. partner will have to answer.

Friday - Romeo and Juliet memorization project due.

Welcome back. I hope your spring break was restful, rejuvenating. I also hope that you enjoyed a good book. Fourth quarter begins this week. We'll have two independent reading book reports during fourth quarter. One due at the end of this week.

Monday - Intro to "The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet" (p 776-781) - Cornell Notes and vocabulary.

Tuesday - Continue intro notes. Drama vocabulary. Memorization assignment: You'll memorize one of the more famous passages from the play by next Wednesday.

Wed-Fri - Read and take notes on Act 1 of "The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet"

Friday - independent reading book report due.
