There are many important tests that Santiago students take throughout their four years in high school. Some tests, like the California High School Exit Exam and the California Standards Tests, are mandatory; other tests, like the SAT's, are required for college. You will find explanations of various tests and dates below.

All students, starting with the class of 2006, must pass the California High School Exit Exam in order to graduate. The CAHSEE is made up of 2 parts; English (including a written Essay) and Math (Algebra). Once a student passes one part, they do not have to take that part again. Students take this test for the first time in the spring of 10th grade. If they do not pass the first time, they have additional opportunities in 11th grade and 12th grade. Santiago offers free tutoring to all students to help them pass this exam.
