Scholarships
Start your scholarship search now!! Most recommended scholarship sites: Scholarships 101 Here are a few pointers in applying for scholarships: - Start asking teachers now if you are going to want letters of recommendation! Many scholarships require these, and you need to give someone at least two weeks notice so that they will have plenty of time to give you the best letter possible. (You may want to give them a resume or list of activities/honors if they agree to write the letter.)
- Use the same color ink throughout the application; black looks the best, but blue is also acceptable. *Whenever possible, type all applications.
- Make a photocopy of the first complete application that you do. For future applications you can use this as a reference instead of having to dig everything out each time a new scholarship comes up.
- Start working on a scholarship essay. Many scholarships require essays that cover topics such as: what you have been involved in during high school, what you are interested in studying/pursuing for your career, any hardships that you have faced during the course of high school, and what sets you apart from other students. **Once you have a good draft you can alter it as needed for the other scholarships that come up. This will save you time and help you to apply for more scholarship!!!
